Cali trip

We went to LA last weekend to see Nate's family and had a BLAST! It was Claire's first time on an airplane and she did pretty well. But by the end of the flight she was ready to get off. I felt bad for the nice lady sitting by us...she said, "My, she's a busy baby isn't she?" Nate said, "That's an understatement." That girl just needs to constantly be playing with something...

We got there on Thursday night and Nate's uncle, Joe, took us to this amazing restaurant called Marmalade Cafe. The food was so yummy! I can still taste the halibut...yummm. Then on Friday we left Claire with Nate's mom and aunt Susie and went to Six Flags Magic Mountain for the day. Can I just tell you that if you are looking for a theme park with thrill rides to look no further? Magic Mountain is awesome roller coaster after awesome roller coaster!
We had so much fun spending the day together with just us. The weather was great and the park was pratically empty. We walked onto almost every ride. Here is my favorite ride, "X"!!
One of our other favorites was called Tatsu and they strap you in and the flip you onto your stomach, so it's like you're flying. Nate snuck our camera on and filmed the whole coaster...here it is if you want to watch.

PS-you'll notice all my screaming in the background. I'm such a wuss. :)

Then the rest of the weekend we just relaxed and hung out. Here's Claire when she thought she was really funny and put a diaper on her head...

Here she is with her cousin (once removed, I think), Ryan. You can tell she doesn't want to share her pumpkin. :)
Claire even got piano lessons from her talented Grandma! We'd never put her on a piano before and when Nate's mom put her hands on the keyboard it took her a second to understand. But after showing her what to do, she LOVED banging all those keys!

On Sunday the weather was so perfect that we went in the backyard and took some cute pics of Claire. The outfit she's wearing is the outfit that Nate went out and bought when we found out we were having a girl. It was always too big for her, so we're glad she was finally able to fit into it!

Nate's aunt thought Claire looked like a little flower, so we put her in a flower pot for some pics...so funny!
Walking with Daddy...
Smelling flowers with Mom...
Here are some with her favorite pumpkin!

Thanks to Nate's grandparents for putting up and feeding us all weekend! It was a great trip!

Sweet Exersaucer

We got Claire an Exersaucer and let's just say it was love at first sight. I finally got it put together yesterday and she can't get enough of it! Claire is SUCH a busy baby. I have to put 4-5 toys in front of her at a time just to keep her entertained. Solution: EXERSAUCER.

The second she got in it she was twirling around and around. She'd start with one toy and two seconds later moved on to the next and so on. She didn't quite know what to do with herself. It was hilarious! I'm so glad we got it!

A Witch Hunt

This weekend we took Claire to Gardner Village for the Witch Night Out! We'd never been before and thought we'd check it out. It was actually a lot more fun than either of us thought it'd be. It's the perfect fall activity. The weather was great and there was so much going on. Almost everyone there had dressed up as witches. As we were leaving, Nate said he thought he was out numbered by women 50:1. He was probably pretty accurate.
We also got in a little bit of shopping. They have this little baby boutique called Elsa Belle and I'm pretty sure it's my new favorite baby store! I got Claire these darling beanies there. I'll post a pic when I get one.
We also got some really cute pictures of Claire...shocker right? :) She loved the pumpkins!

This last pic I loved - I can just hear Claire thinking, "Come on Mom...seriously? Another picture?"

Cheap entertainment

We are constantly looking for new things for Claire to play with...she's such a busy little girl! Well, one thing that she is always obsessed with is our keyboard. Whenever I'm holding her at the computer she reaches as hard as she can to bang on it. She'll twist and contort her body in a myriad of ways just to hear the click of those keys. So I remembered that we had a spare keyboard from our old computer and brought it out. You would have thought I'd dipped this girl's pacifier in chocolate!! She was in heaven!

(I'm not sure about her finger in this picture...she tends to make this gesture often...usually towards one of my brothers.)

Busy Weekend!

This turned out to be a really busy weekend for the Plowmans! We had a dance party on Friday (see post below). I had my Book Club early Saturday morning, then we drove up to Logan where Nate's cousin, Emily, was baptised and then I went to my cousin, Katie's, baby shower. We finished off the night by driving back home just in time for the Ward Fall Festival! Whew! I was glad to just have a relaxing Sunday with church and then naps for all of us! :)

Nate's youngest cousin on the Plowman side was baptised this weekend in the Logan Tabernacle, which was beautiful. We're so proud of you Emmy! The weather was perfect outside. I couldn't believe the color on these red bushes (and I love Claire's face in this one!)
Then I just have to include a few pics from the Ward Fall Festival because it was so much fun! They had tons of different booths set up for the kids...and I guess we're still kids at heart because we had to participate in the doughnut eating contest!

So Barbie totally took us all, but as you can see from the close-up, I was a close second!!

And here are the guys just as they started...open wide! Kyle (in the stripes) ended up with the biggest mouth of them all! :)

And finally, here's my sweet Claire with the pumpkins. Of course, she loved the hay too. Man, I LOVE this girl!

Dance PARTAY!

My neighbor, Barbie, and I decided to throw together a little dance party in honor of our birthdays. (Mine was Oct 7 and hers was Oct 10.) But really it was just a good excuse to throw a partay! We had people dress up in their favorite dance decade's attire. It was so much fun! I couldn't decide what era to do, but finally ended on the 1950s and made Claire and I matching poodle skirts. They turned out pretty cute if I don't say so myself!

Nate's costume was easy - just a white shirt tucked in with rolled sleeves...don't they look so cute together?

The Mirandas were sporting their 1920s attire

The Noppers in the bodacious '80s...doesn't Jeff look awesome in the mullet?

The Weavers were rockin the early '90s...bling and all!But I have to say that the highlight of the night was the DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) competition! We brought our TV and three dance pads over and had them all hooked up to compete. We couldn't believe how into the guys got. Most of the time, the pads were taken up by three guys!

Thanks to everyone for an awesome night!

Happy Birthday to Melissa!

So it was my birthday on Sunday! Yay, I love birthdays! But man, I am feeling old! I think especially because I am a mom on this birthday...weird! We went to Bear Lake over the weekend (see the post below) so we celebrated the next day. We had my whole family over and Nate made my favorite, chicken pillows!

Claire loved all the balloons!

Yay! I got my Aggie license plate cover!!

Claire gave me two massage gift certificates to make up for jacking up my ribs while I was pregnant!

Here's Drew enjoying my favorite treat...Skittles!

Nate got a great action shot of me blowing out the candles!

It turned out to be a fun birthday, even though it's the last year I can officially say I'm in my mid-twenties! :)

Bear Lake!

I know we're way behind the boat on going up to Bear Lake, but we ended up going this past weekend and had a blast! (Even though it snowed!) We went with some family friends, the Larsens, and they were awesome. Their cabin was beautiful! And the trees were amazing...here's a few pics I get on the drive up Logan Canyon.

And we have a big announcement...Claire can WALK!!

Ok, not really. But isn't it funny to see her standing on her own?? My brothers were messing around and they would hold Claire up standing and then Ryan would hurry and let go while Brad took the picture then Ryan would catch her as she fell. This is an after shot.

In between sessions of conference, they whole group went to the park and played soccer. It was pretty cold, but we still had a lot of fun!

Here's an action shot where Brad just scored on Nate (sorry for posting this one Nate...) :)

We had to keep Claire all bundled up in her seat. This is her right when we got home. So cute!

A cute one of my brother Brandon and tiny little Corgan.

It was such a fun trip!
