End of summer BBQ

I hate to even say the words...end of summer. This summer has gone by quicker than any other summer on record. But I have to fac eup to the fact that it's over and it was a great and memorable summer. We celebrated by have a BBQ at my aunt's house. Here's some of the group:

Here's a cute one of Kimi and Amberly:

Poor Aunt Annette just had surgery, so she could only hold the babies with one arm. :(

I love that tongue...

Does it get any cuter?

Seriously. How did I possibly get a baby so unbelievably cute??

Claire was in a great mood yesterday, so we took some pictures. There were so many cute ones...it was hard to decide which ones to post!! The one on her belly is Nate's favorite.

She's been doing a lot of "talking" lately. She'll just babble and babble all the time. It usually sounds like "woooo, woooo, woooo" or "raaa, raaa, raaa". I'm loving it!

Learning to stand

We've been working on getting Claire's leg muscles nice and strong. She loves to stand on your lap and just look around. My favorite part about it is that I can get a good look at the rolls on her legs! This picture was taken right after we changed her diaper and she just loves to have her clothes off. She'll kick around and smile non-stop!
I just thought her face in this picture was hilarious. I could eat this girl up!

E'Shell's baby shower

We had E'Shell's baby shower last Saturday night and it was a blast! Thanks to everyone who came. She's due on September 27, so it really could be any day now. We're so excited to add another grandbaby to the family!

Here's Angie, Drew, Claire and me (I just love how Claire had to have her hand on Drew...too cute!)

The Taylors move to Utah!

We're so excited that our awesome friends, Aaron and Danielle, moved back to Utah from Texas. Nate and Aaron met their freshman year of college and have been best friends ever since. These two are the kind of people who you could always be around and the conversation just flows. We are so happy they are close!
As always, Claire is the center of attention... :)

Sierra Marie Plowman

When we were in St. George this weekend we got to meet our new cousin (or is it cousin once removed...I can never remember), Sierra Marie Plowman. Daughter of Cliff and Jessica Plowman. She is so beautiful! They actually blessed her on Sunday because Cliff's dad (Nate's uncle) is headed to Kuwait this Saturday and they wanted him to be there.

They asked me to take some photos for them while we were there, here's a little snippet:

Labor Day Getaway

We went down to St. George this past weekend for a little getaway. Don't ask me what we were thinking...going south?! The heat was unbearable! It hit 104 degrees on Saturday. Needless to say, when we were outside we pretty much had to be in the pool. That was ok, because Claire loved the water and we were grateful she did!
This picture was taken right outside our condo...

Here we are going for a swim, this was Claire's first real swim since the first time she wouldn't get in the water. But she was the opposite this time...she kicked her little legs around like crazy as soon as they were under water. It was hilarious and so fun.

Then we went over to the playground and went down the slide. We also tried to make her hang on the bars...didn't really work. ;) At least we got her to grab them!

Then Nate and I really wanted to play racquetball. We used to play in college all the time and got really competitive. I am definitely the undefeated champion.
We couldn't leave Claire anywhere, so we ended up making her face the corner and tried to get her to go to sleep. Obviously we'd forgotten how loud the ball is when it hits the wall and there was no way she was going to sleep! So we got about 10 minutes of play time in and then had to leave. :( Traveling with an infant is definitely a different experience!

Time for some catch up

I haven't posted in a while, so I guess I have some catch up to do...

We poured a new patio last week and Nate was pressure washing it. Claire loves to be outside so we decided to join him. We got a camping chair and got one of her favorite books, "Brown Bear". Claire loves it when someone reads to her. She is very still at the beginning and just watches. Then she'll get really excited and just start kicking like crazy as you get further along. But before you are done, she usually gets sick of it and wants to do something else. But I think I've discovered the trick...reading outside.

This weekend Nate's mom and sister, Mehren came to town from Seattle. Mehren is starting her second year at Utah State (go Aggies!), so they were moving her down. Here's a group shot:

We also went down to Nate's cousin Preston's missionary farewell. He's going to Budapest Hungary. Good luck Preston!

Nate's other cousin, Mitch, races go-carts at Miller Motorsports Park. He gets this thing going up to 80 mph! Of course, Nate had to give it a try.

Here's Claire when we got home...

And finally, we went to the SL Bees baseball game last night with some friends. Here's the group:
With the Bees mascot (I think Claire was the only kid there who wasn't afraid of the mascot and that's because she had no idea what he was!)

Brooklyn Kate Christopher

(I keep meaning to post these pics, but we've been so busy I haven't gotten to it!)
We have a new niece!!
Brooklyn Kate Christopher was born July 17, 2007 at 1:52 pm in Brighton, Mass. She weighed in at 8 lbs 7 oz and measured 20 inches long. How darling is she? Here is the proud big brother, Marcus...

Nate's sister, Brianne, and husband Aaron live in Massacussets while Aaron attends Harvard Dental School. They are both so fun and we wish they lived closer. But it's a great excuse for us to visit Boston! (One day right?) Isn't Brooklyn adorable? We won't get to meet her until December when they whole family convenes in Seattle for Christmas. The countdown is at four months!
