Time for some catch up

I haven't posted in a while, so I guess I have some catch up to do...

We poured a new patio last week and Nate was pressure washing it. Claire loves to be outside so we decided to join him. We got a camping chair and got one of her favorite books, "Brown Bear". Claire loves it when someone reads to her. She is very still at the beginning and just watches. Then she'll get really excited and just start kicking like crazy as you get further along. But before you are done, she usually gets sick of it and wants to do something else. But I think I've discovered the trick...reading outside.

This weekend Nate's mom and sister, Mehren came to town from Seattle. Mehren is starting her second year at Utah State (go Aggies!), so they were moving her down. Here's a group shot:

We also went down to Nate's cousin Preston's missionary farewell. He's going to Budapest Hungary. Good luck Preston!

Nate's other cousin, Mitch, races go-carts at Miller Motorsports Park. He gets this thing going up to 80 mph! Of course, Nate had to give it a try.

Brooklyn Kate Christopher

We have a new niece!!

Brooklyn Kate Christopher was born July 17, 2007 at 1:52 pm in Brighton, Mass. She weighed in at 8 lbs 7 oz and measured 20 inches long. How darling is she? Here is the proud big brother, Marcus...

Nate's sister, Brianne, and husband Aaron live in Massacussets while Aaron attends Harvard Dental School. They are both so fun and we wish they lived closer. But it's a great excuse for us to visit Boston! (One day right?) Isn't Brooklyn adorable? We won't get to meet her until December when they whole family convenes in Seattle for Christmas. The countdown is at four months!

Luau!

Our good friends, George and Barbie, had a luau-themed birthday party for their son, Josiah. It was such a blast! Barbie told us that we had to come dressed for the theme, so we dressed Claire up...grass skirt and all!Nate in his Hawaiian attire...

One of the best inventions ever...the Bumbo!

Claire loves her Bumbo! We just got this yesterday and it has already been so great. It's so fun to just look over at her and see her sitting up all by herself. She's completely enthralled with the blue part in the middle...
And her new favorite thing to do it stick her fingers in her mouth as far as they can go...

For all you new or expecting moms out there, I definately recommend buying one of these!

Bath time

Claire loves her bath time. She used to be so relaxed in the bath, but she's turned the exact opposite. She loves to kick her feet and splash around. Whoever bathes her usually ends up pretty wet.

Of course, she's got that tongue going!

She loves it so much that we keep her in there until she gets sick of it. Take a look at her wrinkled foot!

Kawasaki Ninja

My brother Ryan bought a new motorcycle this week and came over to give us a test drive. He got up to 75 MPH with me on the back!

I have always been pretty anti-motorcycle. Especially since my other brother got in a bad motorcycle accident and scared us all. Luckily, he was fine.

The problem now is that after riding around with Ryan, I kind of want one. It was a ton of fun!

The Buzz

I've never completely understood it myself. It takes my husband, what, five minutes to get ready in the morning? Yet, he still complains about the fact that it takes him five minutes. Nate can get out of bed and out the door in the same amount of time it takes me to pull out my blow dryer and turn it on. It's just not right. Well, for some reason he's decided that he needs to speed up the process.

Hence, I gave him a haircut last night. Here's the before:

Claire's First Swim (well, sort of)

I keep meaning to post these pics, but the past couple weeks have been pretty crazy. We went to a BBQ at our friend's, Lauren and Casey, a couple weeks ago and had a great time! Claire had her first swimming experience. When we first put her feet in, she seemed to like it...

But then we put her whole body in (I think it was a little too cold) and she started sucking in her breath and kicking all over.

So I'm afraid her first experience wasn't the best, but we'll try again soon!

Matt and Michelle's Wedding

Nate's cousin, Matt, and his beautiful bride Michelle got married on Friday! They got married in Provo and we went down to the ceremony. Of course, there was traffic and we were late, so we missed part it. :( But Matt's dad, Josh, performed the ceremony and we heard he did a wonderful job. Here's Matt and Michelle...

We were also very excited because Grandma and Grandpa Fackrell came from California for the wedding! We haven't seem them in 1 1/2 years, so it was great to see them.

Claire is 3 months!

Today marks three months for Claire! She's getting so big. Here is an update on her stats:

Height: 27 inches
Weight: 13 pounds
Hair: Still brown, with a receding hairline :)
Eyes: Blueish-gray
Chins: at least 3 of them

Claire's smiling and giggling all the time now. Her giggle is so fun to hear! She's in the very best mood right when she wakes up. I'll look at her in her little bassinet in the morning and she'll just instantly smile. It's the absolute best.

She's also getting really good at sitting up. She can't do it on her own yet, but this is one of her favorite ways to sit...
But within about 30 seconds, she usually ends up like this...

I love this little girl so much. She is our world.

The Carlsons in town!

Our good friends, Soren and Lindsay, came to town this weekend. It was so fun to have them stay over! They have a little boy, Kai, who is 5 months old and a mini-Soren. It was our first time meeting him and he's so adorable! They live in Eugene, Oregon and we really miss having them close.
